STRASBOURG

Translated from French-France Bleu Elsass is a radio station created in 1930 under the name Radio Strasbourg PTT, scuttled in 1940 before the annexation of Alsace-Moselle. It was reborn in January 1945. It is a generalist station of the France Bleu network of Radio France created by France Bleu Alsace. Its service area is Alsace and broadcasts its programs in Alsatian. Its programs were mainly broadcast by the Ondes Moyennes transmitter of Sélestat, which was stopped on December 31, 2015, when Radio France ceased its Amplitude Modulation broadcasts. After January 1, 2016, not having an FM frequency, its programs can only be followed on the Internet.

Strasbourg is the capital city of the Grand Est region, formerly Alsace, in northeastern France. It's also the formal seat of the European Parliament and sits near the German border, with culture and architecture blending German and French influences. Its Gothic Cathédrale Notre-Dame features daily shows from its astronomical clock and sweeping views of the Rhine River from partway up its 142m spire.

France, in Western Europe, encompasses medieval cities, alpine villages and Mediterranean beaches. Paris, its capital, is famed for its fashion houses, classical art museums including the Louvre and monuments like the Eiffel Tower. The country is also renowned for its wines and sophisticated cuisine. Lascaux?s ancient cave drawings, Lyon?s Roman theater and the vast Palace of Versailles attest to its rich history.
