While it now brings the infectious rhythms of Regional Mexican music to the airwaves, KTHS hasn't always played this genre. The station has undergone some exciting transformations over the years. For a time, it was a hub for sports fans, providing play-by-play action and commentary. Later, in a nod to the region's rich musical heritage, KTHS transitioned to a bluegrass format, rebranding itself as "96.9 The Mountain" in August of 2011. This period saw the station embrace the sounds of banjos, fiddles, and soulful vocals, reflecting the heart of Ozark mountain music.
