At Roots 97.1 FM, we want to show, first to Nigerians and then to the world at large, the music of Reggae. We want people to begin to appreciate the Music and the people behind it and to begin to play it more and enjoy it more not just for the musicality, but also for the message it shares.

Abeokuta is the state capital of Ogun State in southwest Nigeria. It is situated on the east bank of the Ogun River, near a group of rocky outcrops in a wooded savanna; 77 kilometres north of Lagos by railway, or 130 kilometres by water. Protected areas such as Cross River National Park and Yankari National Park have waterfalls, dense rainforest, savanna and rare primate habitats.
